Long Due Update

Hi Everyone!

Well, this update is WAYYY past due! I guess I should start out by announcing that I did get offered a designer spot as a result of the Designer Contest! WOOO HOOO! Thanks to everyone who supported me in that effort!

I am also accepted at Deco Pages! I am really on my way now with 4 stores! And, I was accepted in Seascraps Mentorship Program! So, now I have guidance along the way. Which is great for me since I totally need guidance! lol

One of the homework assignments from my new mentor was to create a logo. Well, I chose the 45 record I used in the packaging of the Greatest Bits contest entry. So, now all my products will be sporting a 45 LP! Cool, huh?

And to go along with that, is a new look for the blog. I designed the new banner with the 45 LP and choose new colors. I hope you like what you see.

As for me, I am touch and go right now. I have been ill for 2 weeks now, and then, just as I start getting over that...I am undergoing tests to see what is causing severe stabbing pains in my left knee. The suspicion is that I have torn the cartiledge. If this is true, it will probably require surgery. I went for my MRI test today and will know the results on Wednesday morning. So, I am on pins and needles til then. I don't stay very long on the computer, but hopefully the knee will be a quick fix with a few pills and I'll be as good as new! I am keeping the fingers crossed.

I need to be online more and am not able to at this point because I have LOTS of NEW things to share with you! I designed some styles for PS! Imagine THAT! And of course, another set of amazing overlays!! I have a great new kit as well with a floral alphabet that is just 2 CUTE! And there are templates available at BITS 2 KITS in the April Mega Pack! So, be sure to check that out!

Well, I think that will do it for today. Off to rest the knee! Let's hope I am scrappin again SOON!

Round 2 of the Designer Contest - Help Me Win! Get this kit FREE!

Hi Y'all! Well, Round 1 of the MSS Designer Contest has come and gone! With your help, I finished in 2nd place overall! YAY ME! That's a HUGE improvement to the DEAD Last finish I made in the first contest! Thanks for all your support!

Round 2 is underway now and so far, I am leading the pack! But anything can happen, so I really will be needing your support! Especially now that I have discovered that Round 3 voting is by invite only! So, I have to make this round REALLY count as the winner is determined by cumulative vote totals from ALL 3 rounds! Please consider registering at My Scrap Shop Forum to make your voice heard! You must register to have your input count! Then go to the MSS Designer Contest Section, and choose VOTE HERE. This will bring up 3 threads. Choose ROUND 2 Voting and choose the radio button for your favorite designer! Hopefully it's me! lol

Then head on over to the Gallery and pick up all the great kits! You can still get my Round 1 kit, if you haven't gotten it already! And my Round 2 Kit is available for you for FREE!

And here is some MORE AWESOME NEWS! I applied at Deco-Pages and they have accepted me as a designer! Then I applied to Buzy Bee Scrapping. And while waiting for that decision, I got an email from SEASCRAPS Mentorship Program! I GOT IN!!!!! OMG YAY! I can hardly wait! And then the email came from Buzy Bee. She accepted me too! I really want to accept all these offers but I am afraid with the requirements and now with the mentorship program, that I will let them down and not meet my end of the deal. So, I think I am going to have to say no, which totally breaks my heart. But, I hope that in the future, they will consider me again. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Oh and here's the BAD NEWS. On Saturday afternoon, while uploading my kit to the contest, I lost my computer! The whole thing started this loud screaching noise and I couldn't do anything. So I hard rebooted. YEAH, VERY BAD IDEA. Long story short...it wouldn't even boot up. So, of course, now I am totally FREAKING out. But my daddy will ALWAYS be my hero! He drove all the way from East Texas, he could barely walk, and replaced my motherboard with his! My daddy is THE BEST DADDY in the whole world! Thank you DAD! You ARE my HERO! I love you!!

And dad, yes, I am now getting back to backing up my system! lol

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY

I am feeling very nervous right now. On a whim, I entered another designer contest and I know that it will be good experience for me. As I have gotten to know the people on the site through their forum, I find that I really like them. Which makes it even more nerve racking! Because the contest is 3 rounds and based on votes. And now, I really want to win...because I really like the people there! So, I am extremely nervous. I hope that those of you visiting my blog, will come by and show your support repeatedly! lol The voting begins on Friday I think and I guess the contest starts tomorrow. I will have more information for you tomorrow. Thanks to all of you that have shown your support by leaving comments and I do hope that you are enjoying the freebies that I have created for you!

I am SOOO Excited!!!

Ok, I was going to post today and put up a freebie pack, and I still hope to...but I couldn't wait another second to tell you something! Are you ready?!

This weekend I was trying to design something for the April Collaboration kit (and just as an FYI, you really should check out the collab kits at Bits 2 Kits. The Feb one had 50 Quick pages for 5 bucks. The March one will be Scrap for Hire and has TONS of stuff! It is 2 cute! My contribution alone was 40 gradients. So you get the idea.) Anyway, I digress...So, I'm working and working and trying to figure out how to do grunge overlays. Yeah, not so much..I got 1.

Anyway, I look up and there is this pattern overlay I created. Before I knew it, I had 16. And I'm going...ummm...I think these are pretty good. So, I showed them to my friend Becky. And she goes, those are sooo cool! Which made me feel pretty good, since I have been apparently rejected by a few stores now.

Then Becky goes, apply at this store...They are looking for CU designers. So, I'm like...ok, I'll give it a shot. I sent it off at 11:15 last night. Just a few minutes ago, I got a response. She wants me to sell at her store! OMG! I am so excited I could just scream and tell the world...guess I kinda am, aren't I? lol I just emailed her back with the designer agreement. I'm soo excited.

And in a few days...I am entering this designer contest at My Scrap Shops too! I am really nervous, and the decision is based on votes, so I hope you will come by and vote! But we have a few days for that! lol

YAY ME! Someone recognized raw talent! I am SOOO excited! Please leave me comments and let me know what your thoughts are! I would really love to hear from you! Oh and if you are interested in getting these products, they should be online very soon at Bits 2 Kits...and then in the near future at......Digital Scrap Designs!

Searching for a Creative Team (Tagger Info)

Well, now that I have gotten my foot in the door and I am designing at Bits 2 Kits, I need help! So, I am holding a Creative Team call for Taggers and Scrappers. I am including the information regarding the Scrappers Call here and will be posting the Scrappers information in the upcoming days.

What is A Creative Team?

Basically, a member of Chelle's Creative Team would be someone who has agreed for a specified length of timeto create scrap tags/scrapbook layouts using only elements, papers, etc from her kits. The memberwould then credit the tag and post it in various agreed upon venues.

What are the Requirements?

1. Post 1-2 completed scrap tags per kit in agreed upon venues. We will be using completed projects formarketing uses.
2. Commit to a 3 month contract minumum which will include a digital piracy clause. I am looking for permanent members so I am willing to extend the contract term if you request it.
3. Participate in the CT Blog and on Chelle's Scrapabilities Blog.
4. Participate in activities and discussions in the CT forum. The purpose here will be to leave comments at other CT Members gallery postings, to get previews and input into new kits, and to get to know one another.
5. Display Chelle Fan, Scrapabilities, CT Blog, and Bits 2 Kits blinkies in your signatures on emails and ingroups/forums where appropriate.

What are the Benefits?

You will be the first to work with new paper/scrapbook products designed by Chelle.
You will receive the kits free in return for your talent and time, as long as you are in compliancewith your contract.

How Do I Apply?

Well...It's Official!

Exciting News! As of today, I am officially a designer! YAY!!!! Someone was smart enough to recognize raw talent! lol As of right now, I have 5 products available and they are all on sale! Be sure to go grab them before they go full price. I have 2 full kits, an add on pack, and a gradient kit in both PS and PSP versions. Yesterday I created 2 more gradient packs which will go in the March collaboration kit. So be on the lookout for those.

I thought this weekend I might start on the word art kit, or maybe do another full kit. And I was hoping to get a freebie gradient pack up here....that is if anyone would want them....lol I love gradients! You can NEVER have too many gradients!

Hello Everyone! I hope that you have had a great holiday weekend. I spent the weekend with my parents who live in East Texas. Of course, I went through PSP withdrawl! lol But, now that I am back home again, I can start thinking about designing that next kit, applying to another designer call, and wondering when someone is going to recognize raw talent and Pick Me! lol

I have created another kit which I entitled Venetian Inspiration. I have taken 4 papers and 4 elements from that to create a free mini kit just for you! I hope that if you like it, you will do 2 things for me. One...please tell your friends about my blog. And two, please leave me some love! You can do that by scrolling to the bottom of this post and leaving a comment.

I have also been told that I need to create blinkies. So, my first attempt failed miserably. lol Anyway, I am going to be working on a couple for the remainder of the evening. Hopefully, by the end of the night I will have a couple of blinkies to share with you. I hope that you will snag one or two of them and add them to your signatures in your emails, and group posts. And especially when posting creations using my designs! I hope that you will all be fans of Chelle's Creations! lol

The Journey Begins...

Well, alot has happened now since my last post...yesterday! lol I couldn't wait to let you know. I have been applying to stores to become a designer. I have been sending previews in and am still waiting to hear from 2 stores. One store, said no thank you. lol There are two I haven't heard back from but the calls may be still open so I am not going to panic. Besides, they would tell me one way or another, wouldn't they?

So, I will just continue to apply and hopefully someone will recognize raw talent..lol. I know I have a lot to learn, but I figure, when you want it bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to do the best for the store you can! And that's me! So, pick me! Pick me! lol

2008: New Year, New Adventures

Hi Y'all! Welcome to my blog. Seems I am doing a lot of new things this year. With the new year comes new ideas, new friends, new projects. Only 14 days into the new year and already I am well on my way to accomplishing those things.

Many of you know that I have been a tutorial writer for sig tag makers for 3 years now. You can find them at PSP-4-Me . I have learned how to make my own resources during that time, and now it's time to try something new. I thought I would try my hand at scrap kit making. Which is, in and of itself, a bit scary and intimidating. I have had a kit made now for 6 months...and have been too afraid to show it to anyone. What if it stinks? What if its not well received? What if its wrong? Well, I have now overcome my fears and decided to show it to a few stores.

Yup, I took a giant leap and jumped in! I applied at a few stores that posted a Design Team call. And now I am waiting...wondering if anyone will like my stuff well enough to take me on! I REALLY hope so! I would love to be a kit designer!

Always my worst critic...I am totally nervous. I like them...but then, I am biased..lol! I wonder what the store owners are thinking?
